I think I gave all my kids their stocking last year and I took this picture just before giving them up. My husband's family had matching stockings identical to this that hung all the way up the stairs off the handrail and when I joined the family I got one to. My MIL actually knit it for me and the tree is just beautiful because she made a boo boo and made it too large. She always complained about that. The funniest thing is that she crocheted the lettering for my name and sewed it on the stocking, (my son's is actually the only one knit into the stocking) just in case it needed to be recycled at a later date. At least that's what she told me and I believe it because I had a couple of brothers-in-law who got recycled stockings. Well after 35 years, I'm still an Adams and my MIL.....may she RIP!
Anyway, in true Adams Family form these are just as frightening as you would imagine. I plan to stitch Emily, Shaine and Tanner SB stockings this year, then work on one for my son once that gameboard is done. My older DD has stitched or is stitching 3 of them, all with words on them and they are beautiful.
Merry Christmas everyone, and may your stockings look better than mine.
